Socotri language
On behalf of myself, the members of the Center, and all those interested in the Socotri language, its heritage, and culture, I extend my thanks and appreciation to everyone who contributed to the success of the Alif Baa workshop, which was held in the Socotra Archipelago Governorate, Hadbabu City, from September 24-28, 2024, under the generous patronage of His Excellency the Governor, may God protect him, and with generous support from UNESCO, and with the local, regional, and international presence of experts and professors of Arabic and South Arabian languages, who made great efforts until their efforts culminated today in this historic decision. I value this great achievement and their names remain among the founders of the Socotri alphabet, and their memory remains linked to the history of the Socotri language, and the people of the archipelago preserve it with all respect and appreciation.
